Why this exists

Built by someone who has been through it.

I built VisaPath because I went through the F-1 visa process myself. The scattered documents, the confusing timelines, the interview anxiety at 2 AM — I lived all of it.

As an international student from Ghana with a Master's in Applied Mathematics, I know what it feels like to prepare for the visa interview with no clear structure. VisaPath is the tool I wish I had.

Step library

Every required visa step already has content structure.

SEVIS fee

Pay the SEVIS I-901 fee

Submit the SEVIS fee payment as soon as the I-20 is confirmed so the receipt is ready before the interview. Your SEVP-approved school registers you in SEVIS and issues your Form I-20 — you must pay the I-901 fee before applying for your visa.

DS-160

Complete the DS-160 visa application

Submit the Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application (Form DS-160) carefully, keeping program details, travel plans, and sponsor information consistent with your admission letter and I-20. Upload a compliant photograph during the application.

Appointment

Schedule the embassy appointment

Use the embassy appointment process that applies to your country of origin. After you confirm the MRV payment process for your interview country, wait for the receipt or voucher to activate before scheduling the appointment.

Documents

Prepare supporting documents

Assemble the interview packet with school, identity, and financial evidence in a clear order that is easy to reference quickly. You must prove academic preparation and financial ability to cover all expenses during your studies.

Interview

Attend the visa interview

Arrive early, answer directly, and keep responses aligned around study intent, school choice, and post-study plans. The interview is typically short but decisive — be prepared to clearly explain why you chose this school, how you will pay, and what you plan to do after graduation.

Receive visa

Receive the visa and finalize travel

Track passport return, verify the visa stamp, and finalize travel once the approved passport is in hand. You may enter the US up to 30 days before your program start date.
